Food Journal Jun 4, 2009

breakfast
  • toast
lunch @ Fusion Cafe
  • pho combo
  • chicken skewer
  • goi cuon (summer roll)
dinner w/ Maria, Francesc & Ilona (Tapas Night!)
  • antipasto platters (chorizo , salami, roasted red peppers, home-grilled crostinis, prosciutto, drunken goat cheese, blue cheese, emmentaler, soppresseta)
  • poached shrimp
  • brussel sprouts w/ hog jowl bacon
  • sauteed sugar snap peas (fresh from Elmwood, sweet!)
  • fried alligator w/ remoulade (too tough for frying, it waylaid me as I was searching for tilapia)
  • baked brie w/ rum sauce (melted its shape away but SO good. Cheese, liquor & sugar? Can’t lose)
  • sauteed mushrooms (crimini, ceps/porcinis, lobster)
  • spiced pecans (too heavy on the salt but addictive)
  • salad (a touch of honey gave the basic lemon juice/olive oil dressing new life. Lettuces from Elmwood)
